One of the first tournaments where we got to see the new 7.22 patch in action was Adrenaline Cyber League which has now come to an end with the winning team showing that it’s not all about the Aghanim’s just yet.
Adrenaline Cyber League was a very short event that took place over the weekend and featured the likes of Evil Geniuses, Virtus.pro, Natus Vincere and Team Spirit. The tournament started yesterday and saw Spirit (ex-Old but Gold) defeating EG and VP taking down Na’Vi to setup today’s final.
While it was a very one-sided affair, VP managed to win the best-of-five final with the use of only ONE Aghanim’s scepter through the rather quick three games it took them to win.
The team also proved their might without Pavel ‘9pasha’ Khvastunov who had opted to spend time with his family as Rostislav ‘fn’ Lozovoi took his place. While the event does not fully showcase the new patch and ESL One Birmingham this week will be much more indicative of hero choices and item builds, it showed some fantastic Roman ‘Ramzes666’ Kushnarev Earthshaker and Doom.
With VP not heading to Birmingham in a few days, this event would be their biggest practice ground before the EPICENTER Major. We look forward to seeing more action from the pros on the 7.22 patch in the coming week.
